Thank you for looking at my website! I am a full-time professional career boat captain. I have fished the GA coast for over 40 years. I have been in the fishing guide / charter boat business since 1979. I have fished over 4,000 days on the GA coast. I have fished the offshore and inshore waters for every fish that swims in them.

ClientsI can put together a trip to suit your fishing needs from the ocean to the river, light or heavy tackle. I have selected a small group of the most experienced fishermen on the Georgia coast to help with my charters. No fishing license is needed, and all fishing tackle is included on all trips.

Inshore fishing for trout, redfish, whiting, sheepshead, flounder, blackdrum, and tripletail are my most popular trips. I usually fish over 150 of these trips every year. We are usually fishing the uncrowded, clean waters of St. Catherine’s, Ossabow, and Sapelo Sound. These trips are usually fishing with shrimp or a variety of artificial lures. These fish can usually be caught all year. This is a good trip for all ages to have fun and bring home some fish to eat. The trout usually run from 1 to 5 pounds. The redfish will average from 1 to 20 pounds with some big reds up to 50 pounds. I am fishing a custom-built 25 foot boat with plenty of room. I will carry up to 4 fishermen per trip. During the summer months we can also combine this with a trip to a barrier island beach. The boat is equipped with new 2017 Evinrude motor, trolling motor, and quality fishing tackle.

ClientsSharks and tarpon provide great, big game fishing from April though October. Last season we caught a lot of big sharks, including one 18 foot hammerhead, estimated at 800 pounds, that we released after a four hour battle. We caught 69 tarpon, which ranged from 80 to 160 pounds. We did a lot of spot and stalk tarpon fishing on light tackle, which was great sport. Some of the tarpon were caught with traditional methods, fishing with live and dead bait.

Light-tackle offshore fishing trips for Cobia, Kings, Barracuda, Spade Fish, Seabass, and Grouper. These trips are usually 6 or 8 hours in length, fishing artificial and natural reefs off the Georgia Coast. Can accommodate up to 4 anglers. This is a good trip for fishermen wanting a different offshore fishing adventure.

If you don’t fish, I can also provide boat ride adventures through coastal marshes and trips to the coastal barrier islands and beaches. Call me if you have any special wants or wishes so that I can try to meet your needs. Waiting to hear from you… Call me 912-756-4573.

Thank you. Captain David Newlin
